Ignazio Angeloni

Senior Policy Fellow, Bocconi University and SAFE, Former Member of the ECB Supervisory Board & Former Director General for Financial Stability, ECB

Ignazio Angeloni is a senior policy fellow at Bocconi and SAFE. Previously he was is part-time professor at EUI and a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. From 2014 to 2019 he was a member of the ECB Supervisory Board. In 2012-2013, as Director General for Financial Stability at the ECB, he coordinated the establishment of the Single Supervisory Mechanism. His earlier positions include Director for International Relations at Italy’s Finance Ministry, Deputy Director General Research at the ECB and Director at the Bank of Italy. Ignazio holds a degree from Bocconi and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and has published books and articles in leading academic journals.
